I've wanted to write something about this ever since Red Lobster announced its bankruptcy in May. Now, hindsight is 20/20, but given how large the blast radius of this promotion proved to be—taking down Red Lobster, forcing Thai Union to write off half a billion dollars in investments, and putting thousands of employees out of work—prudence would have worked out well for all parties involved.
